The OTAKU FEST 3.0: The Thrid Wave Competition Guidelines!!!

yeah!

please do see attachments coz for some reasons that i don't understand, i can't publish the guidelines when i copy-paste it (from the uploader)

anyway, please take note of the following:

1. All pre-registration ends by October 31, 2009
2. Mind the registration fees
3. All transactions, queries whatsoever may be done here at the multiply site or facebook or through upotaku@gmail.com
4.Possible changes in the guidelines will be announced as soon as possible..
5. Take your time!! Malayo pa October.. Got a lot of time to prepare...
6. REG na!!!!

of course! thought the band competition and the cosplay competition are considered separate, so if the band member wants to join the cosplay competition, he/she has to register for the cosplay competition separately.

This is the preliminary deadline, to see if there is enough interest in the events to run them. If there aren't enough registrants for certain competitions, they won't be seen during Otaku Fest itself.

If you haven't been attending past Otaku Fests, you probably wouldn't have seen how we've moved the deadlines to accommodate the participants. We've always tried to be as fair as possible when it comes to the attendees.

If you have gripes for the way Otaku Fest is being managed, and fear for the failure of the event lest it stains the name of the organization you're representing, please attend our meetings. We'd love to hear from you there.

Is it okay to attend meetings even if I'm going to compete as well? o.o

So there is no way that the end of registration will be moved then?

I think it would be better if the pre-registration be moved... I mean, oct 31 is just days after archcon....

People can't come up with a quick costume

unless you want a recostume from arccon...

once again it depends....

guys, there is a pre-registration so that we can prepare things needed for the competitions, we can adjust the time of the program and etc. etc. etc...
you can pre-register even if you do not know yet what to costume or even if you are unsure....

anyway, you can just PM us or email us if there are any changes in your character or if you're going to back out...

there's actually no problem here...
if we can see that there are very little pre-regitrants, we'll most likely moved the deadline...
but can we comply to the deadline first?
it is actually necessary for marketing purposes....

August even. So I suppose people who have plans to join have time to think about it should they wish to go into it. I think the edict from the laws that 'Ignorance of the law is not an excuse' works in this instance?

And I don't think you need your costume to be ready right then and there during pre-registration? o.o

Extension of deadline for all competitions: November 12, 11:59PM

watch out for more updates and more information on http://upofest.net. The website's still undergoing maintenance but will be up soon!

yup, very welcome ang dili taga UP. There will be an admission fee pero I think wala pa nafinalize kung pila ang admission fee. Last year it was P50.
